Elkins, WV – Mountain Valley Bank, N.A. is pleased to announce plans for a multi-million dollar renovation of its headquarters office in downtown Elkins.
The renovation project will preserve the historic nature of the existing bank structure, while incorporating a new modern addition. These planned improvements reflect Mountain Valley Bank’s long-term investment in its headquarters location and its dedication to delivering outstanding financial services for generations to come.
“The renovation of our headquarters office will not only be transformative for our customers and employees, but will continue to build on the substantial investments already made by many others in the downtown Elkins area,” said President and CEO, Douglas K. Weese.

Construction is currently expected to begin in early 2027 with completion anticipated by mid to late 2028. Throughout the renovation, the headquarters office will remain open, with the possibility of brief periodic closures. Temporary accommodations and alternative service options will be provided to minimize disruption. The bank’s other offices located in Mill Creek, Parsons and Chenoweth Creek on the Beverly Five-Lane, will remain open throughout the renovation to meet all customer banking needs. Customers will continue to have access to in-person banking, ATMs, online banking, mobile banking, and quality customer support throughout the project.
Highlights of the renovation include:
- a partial building demolition to be replaced with a new modern three-story addition,
- a redesigned and expanded customer focused banking lobby emphasizing the historic bank building, complemented by the new modern addition,
- improved accessibility and convenience for all customers and visitors including an elevator servicing all three floors of the building,
- expanded private meeting spaces for customer discussions and consultations, and
- redesigned and upgraded employee workspaces and collaborative meeting areas.
Additional updates on construction timelines and temporary service arrangements will be shared with customers as the project progresses.
